"Ta for all the comments, all much appreciated as I have been mucho stresso dealing with this and having a bit of a "wobble" over it (big enough an ugly enough to admit it-Kieran may be a c@nt but he's my favourite c@nt!:)*).
(*Don't be offended- this is the highest Scottish honorific you can obtain:))
I shall be printing them all off at the end of the day and putting them in a card for him that will be sent off soon, so any messages can be put here and we can pass them on.If you want messages of a more personal/obscene nature to be passed on then please send them to-
buggersgrips(AT)hotmail(DOT)com and I'll add them to the card.
The latest is that he is doing well and any newspaper articles that you may read are absolute boll@cks so please disregard them and encourage all others that you hear about to do the same (just spent the first ten minutes of work today explaining this to my boss as he saw it in the Metro).
The DDS lads are a bit shaken but my kettle is doing overtime and my training as a PTSD counsellor is coming in handy!
As for the other party- contact has been established (thanks Fox/Dickie) and Kieran's family wish it to be known that their thoughts are with him and wish him no ill felling. I can be fairly certain that the DDS lads think and feel the same- if you need a PTSD counsellor mate then look me up at Tewkers (seriously!)
Can I please reiterate this phrase-
"We really cannot comment on the situation as we ourselves do not yet know the whole truth so please do not inundate me, Ian or any others of the CoDDs lads with emails as we will respect Kieran’s family's wishes not to comment."
So please don't ask!
Keep on keeping on!
Phil the Grips"

[puts on best Brian Glover voice] This is Rumour Control. I ummed-and-ahhed over putting this up here but I decided it would be best to be proactive in this instance. Some of you may be aware that Kieran Robb of CoDDs was seriously injured at the Twinwood event. He is currently in a stable condition in hospital and his family are with him. It is their wish that Rumour does not put her viper in the bosom of reenactors and the scene in general so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not speculate, postulate or any other kind of –ate over the incident on this or any other public forum. The incident has massive repercussions for Kieran, other parties directly involved, reenactment as a whole and, as there is already Police involvement over the issue, your opinion will only serve to do harm until the full facts are certain. We really cannot comment on the situation as we ourselves do not yet know the whole truth so please do not inundate me, Ian or any others of the CoDDs lads with emails as we will respect Kieran’s family's wishes not to comment. An official update will be forthcoming once we know the whole truth, until then I wish only to see this thread expand with well-wishers for Kieran, his family, girlfriend and the other party (who is so often the forgotten victim in incidents of this nature). Kieran the thoughts and best wishes of CoDDS are with you. |
