Now, do you think 'Ming the Merciless' or Minge Campbell is a better name for him?

Personally, I don't like him, not on a personal level since I've never met him, but as a politician. I don't trust him at all. He seems, to me, to be the kind of man who will be your best friend, but only as long as it is worth his while. I feel that he would take the policies that he felt were most likely to benefit him and/or his career, regardless of the benefit to the nation. I'd trust Blair more, and that's saying something since I've always seen him as a trivial Cheshire Cat! Minge Campbell reminds me of the worst aspects of school society, when you couldn't trust someone to stay your friend unless you were suitably 'useful'!

Now, Why Mingis, not Menzies? - blame the Yogh (ȝ)*

Just catalogued this today...:

Healthy competition: how supermarkets can affect your chances of a healthy diet, reports on the NCC's 2005 Health Responsibility Index which scored retailers on their healthy eating practices.

It found the Co-op taking over from Waitrose as the UK's number one supermarket for healthy eating. Marks and Spencer moved up to joint second place with Waitrose.

The Health Responsibility indicators measure and compare company performance in four key areas:

  • nutritional content — sodium content of ten everyday, own-label processed foods;
  • labelling information — nutrition information provided on food labels; use of Guideline Daily Amounts; and use of interpretive 'traffic light' nutrition labelling;
  • in-store promotions — 'healthy' foods (fruit and vegetables) as a proportion of in-store price promotions; whether stores had sweets or other less healthy snacks at the checkout;
  • in-store information/advice for customers on healthy eating through leaflets and magazines and via retailers' telephone helplines.
