Us re-enactor-y types seem to be a fairly socialble lot, but sometimes it seems to be hard to stay in contact once you go home (especially if you get drunk and can't remember the name of anyone you were talking to by the morning after!). Anyways, my thought was whether a Community here, since it's free, or a proper website for people, would be of interest? For people to stay in contact on, and make friends before going to longer distance multi-group events. Lift sharing even for multi-group stuff?! Perhaps I'm being a little over optimistic about peoples' altruism there... *grin*
A virtual site with lots of campfires to wander around if you like...
I guess some would use it to wander off into the shadows, but that wouldn't be the purpose. I mean, not a dating site, but using the principles of sites like Plenty of Fish, and Netgoth?
Points for a community here:
It's free
I can do it now
We already have profiles
Points for a website:
Comes up on searches
Can submit it to known re-enactors sites for linking
Easier to search
Can tailor profiles towards your reenactment side
Thoughts? Opinions?
