Labour MP Diane Abbott is to learn the piano for a new BBC series that follows celebrities as they tackle a musical instrument from scratch. Other volunteers for Play It Again, to be shown next year, include Lord Winston on sax and Jo Brand, who'll be running her hands over a huge organ and definitely not stooping to any obvious innuendo.

There is no truth in the story that Clare Short was to take voice coaching but proved incapable of singing from the same hymn sheet as everybody else.

Interesting, and amusing at the same time... I will also find it interesting as we are hoping to teach a lot of the LR peoples to play new instruments this year, so I want to see what approach they take.
