This has just been indexed on the new PIMS database. It is a letter from the Turks to our government asking us, basically, to concur with their view that the Armenian massacre of 1915 did not happen.
Letter dated 28/04/2005 to Michael Martin MP, Speaker, from Bulent Armc, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, enclosing a letter to the British Parliament from members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly regarding the "Blue Books" prepared by the British War Propaganda Bureau during World War One, specifically the section on "The treatment of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire 1915-1916".
Apparently the EU is insisting on Turkish acknowledgement of the 'incident' as a precondition of Turkey's accession into the EU...
